Pond Waters

13x13 Recovered cotton colored with goldenrod and printed with Japanese indigo, amaranth, and coreopsis; Goldenrod yellows and browns paired with indigo greens create an abstract landscape of a forest pond on a sunny day. The natural dye patterns on the cloth are enbellished with prints made with string soaked in fresh leaf indigo slurry, amaranth flower pigment paint, and hammered indigo leaves.
